We are delighted to announce that we have formed a new and exciting partnership with the award winning charity SOS Kit Aid.
SOS Kit Aid is a registered Charity on a mission to recycle sports kit for the benefit of disadvantaged youngsters, mostly overseas in emerging rugby countries.
John Broadfoot founded SOS Kit Aid during a trip to Romania. After watching an eight-year-old boy struggle to hold his shorts up whilst playing rugby, John decided to collect kit from his local schools to donate. The success of this venture attracted the attention of World Rugby who funded an expansion reaching over 1,000 schools and clubs.
Thanks to the support of World Rugby, an estimated £6 million of kit has been delivered to over 250,000 youngsters in 44 developing countries to date. A further 20 countries are currently on the waiting list!
By recycling kits, not only are these children getting access to sport but the volume of sports kit in landfill sites is reduced. So far the programme has saved over 750 tonnes of environmentally damaging CO2 emissions.
We are incredibly honoured to be working with this special Charity to help bring sport to those who might otherwise have not had the opportunities. John Broadfoot of SOS Kit Aid said “I am really looking forward to working with Bespoke Moving Solutions in the coming years.”
Over the years we have relocated a lot of rugby players all over the world and have seen a lot of unused kit go to waste! With this in mind, going forward we will co-ordinate the donation of any unwanted kit from our clients (clubs and players) to this fantastic cause. We will be offering the service to all our clients and look forward to seeing the difference it can make to young people across the world. “I am so pleased that we have this new opportunity to put even more back into the game that I have loved for so long” said Roger Aiken MD at Bespoke Moving Solutions.
